  12. SCSI Tools is a small Control Panel Device (cdev to us programmers) that
  13. has two functions.  One, it provides a status display of your SCSI bus
  14. with lights corresponding to the 8 (0-7) id's.  Note the Mac is always
  15. assigned number 7 so it's always on.  Thanks to Steve Brecher for hints
  16. on implementing this function.  The second function is that it can mount
  17. SCSI devices (usually hard disks) with the mount button (buttons have
  18. drop shadows).  Handy when a hard disk has just been turned on or was
  19. dragged to the trash.  It will mount any disk that has been dragged to
  20. the trash, even non-SCSI disks.

  22. SCSI Tools is useful if you are constantly mucking around with your
  23. SCSI setup.  To use it you need to be using System 4.0 or higher.
  24. To install SCSI Tools, just drag its icon (SCSI Bus) into your
  25. System Folder and pull down the Control Panel desk accessory.
